In this session, I take a look at the techniques behind basic mult-pass compositing of a simple 3D element into a background plate. Topics covered: • Image-Basded Lighting • Creating an HDR Spherical Map • Establishing a Linear Workflow in modo as it pertains to compositing • Setting up Render Layers and Passes via Render Outputs • Establishing a Linear Workflow within Toxik and After Effects • Compositing the Robot Layer into the background plate • Dealing with Premultiplied Alphas • Color correcting using render outputs from modo as masks • Creating specular bloom from the specular pass
